Shy Coot...

I was taking some photos of reflections in Killingworth Lake after my swim at the nearby Leisure Centre (not in the lake!) - they were rather boring but I was hoping to spice them up in Photoshop. But then this coot came along and, just as I pointed the camera at it, it dived. I was lucky to catch the moment in a single shot (normally to get this sort of photo I end up spending ages on rapid fire and then have hundreds of shots to go through and delete!).

It looks as if it was rather shy, hiding its head from the camera. Or maybe it thinks it's an aquatic ostrich and wants to blot out what's happening in the world...
