Chester FC 0 Tranmere Rovers 2
Chester's inevitable relegation was finally confirmed today when they lost to Tranmere and Solihull scored in the 88th minute at Hartlepool. It has been on the cards since before Christmas and everyone had already accepted it anyway so it was no big deal.
On the positive side I had a 10 minute blip meet with thechimp who had come down from Scotland to see the game. It was good to meet up and have a quick chat.
My blip shows Tranmere club bouncer Steve McNulty in a typical challenge with Chester's Harry White. McNulty looks like he has won his place in the Tranmere side by winning a charity raffle and is not the most subtle of defenders. He seems incapable of jumping for the ball without using his arms and we debated whether he had his own gravitational field due to his immense size. I was rather hoping I could get a photo of him alongside Chester substitute Nathan Brown who looks like the club mascot. To be fair he is a good player.
