Clowning Around

It's cold, it's dull, it's drizzling.  April showers would be much better than this.

We couldn't summon the energy to go further than the High Street this morning, and that was only to look at the shop windows and have coffee and scones in one of the many cafes in our  little town. 

I think our main earner is supplying refreshment to travellers who have survived the 50 weary moorland miles that lie between us and Newcastle.  It's 50 miles in the other direction to Edinburgh, but the terrain is much gentler.

There are also some shops selling the sort of stuff that people on holiday like to buy, knick-knacks and bric-a-brac. This pair of ceramic clowns were sitting outside one of them. They demanded to be photographed, though I decided against offering them a home.

I've played around with the images (extra), and finally squeezed them into one shot, and messed around with that, to produce a silly image for Silly Saturday.  Thank you, Admirer, for hosting this challenge - a fun way to pass a dismal afternoon.
