EDL not welcome here

I think this says it all really.

An exhausting, inspirational and reflective day with friends and comrades from 'We are Norwich' in Walthamstow, London. The EDL (English Defence League) had threatened to demonstrate there but when we arrived in Walthamstow the word had got out that the EDL were to be demonstrating in Westminster instead. About 1,000 people had gathered in Walthamstow and remained there to hear speakers and musicians and to reaffirm that the EDL are definitely not welcome.

Some of our party went to Westminster where they, and others, gathered on Parliament Green opposite the Houses of Parliament alongside members of the EDL in what I understand was a much smaller gathering than in Walthamstow. I regret that I was not there to capture events with my camera.

On 10th November the EDL plan to come to Norwich. We are ready for them.
