Struggling
A heavy snowstorm came across Edinburgh today. As I knew it would happen, I got the bus and tram to work. Was pretty bad, but I did manage a short lunchtime walk.
Conditions were pretty bad for the trip home, but I got in to Edinburgh ok on the tram. I was glad a bus soon turned up at the bus stop. However, at Holy Corner, traffic wasn't moving, so I got off the bus and walked the 2miles home. I was moving much faster than any mide of transport apart from, surprisingly, cyclists.
I got home at 6:15pm, one hour and 45mins after leaving work. My blip shows rhe traffic passing my road just as I got there. It has started to move, but vehicles are struggling, slipping and sliding around.
As the snow was quite wet, I set to work clearing the pavement up to the main road. As this is a steady incline, Finished clearing the important parts about one hour later, just as my partner came home. Her journey was much quicker than mine. I also bunged a load of grit on the road. I didn't do the main road, as a couple.of gritter lorries had passed by then.
Pavement gritters turned up about 9pm, way too late to have any effect as the wet snow had started to freeze by then.
