"Stay close to me, Junior!"
It was a family affair today as I visited the Swan and Iris Garden at Sumter and was delighted to see some baby swans! These are black Australian Swans which actually have two batches of babies a year...spring and fall. We also had some excitement when a hawk flew over these babies...talk about some squawking and flapping of wings! No mishaps though but that hawk was not far away.
There are also seven other breeds of swan in the garden, included mute swans..they are mean and a whooping swan..what a great sound they make. We also saw geese, ducks and about 200 turtles! And so many flowers..I wanted to post a flower photo for Flower Friday but these babies were better.
A mute swan (first extra) with a line up of turtles behind him and the whooping swan second in the extra. And one of the azaleas that line the edge of the pond.
Thanks so much for all the comments on my Blip yesterday about my friend Dennis's funeral. Caring people really help make the day better.
