Nets
You know when people look at your super-active kid and say "oooh he'll sleep tonight"? ... well I usually just nod and smile but today was about the first time I've thought we'd actually run him into the ground! He was asking to go to bed by about 6pm.
MrsCyclops, CyclopsJnr and Grandma walked / biked up to the station and got the open top bus (exciting!) to Troutbeck Bridge then walked / biked along to Brockhole.
CyclopsJnr played on the excellent playground for about 45 mins then MrsCyclops and CyclopsJnr went on the treetop trampoline nets. Eek. MrsCyclops was frightened. Although actually it was ok up there, you couldn't really see down (i.e. that you were on a bouncy net 20ft up) if you looked across the net rather than through it. CyclopsJnr was thrilled. And keen to stay in the area filled with large balls deemed "boisterous" in the safety briefing. None of this "under 7s nets" for him. Well we were up there an hour and CyclopsJnr enjoyed it. MrsCyclops got used to it.
Lunch... outside! What????! Then CyclopsJnr rolled down the hill for half an hour with a bigger boy he befriended.
Open top bus back to Windermere, walk / bike to Grandma's, and a half hour at the nearby park along the way.
Painting a polystyrene dinosaur and creating a batcave from a shoe box.
Tea.
Bath. Bed.
All exhausted!
Cyclops is on his way to join us.
