Caernarfon Day 3 - Snowdon and Conwy

Up and out early this morning for our trip up Snowdon. It was disappointing that the strong winds prevented us going as far as the stopping point. In the even we went 5/8ths of the way up and I took a couple of photos from the train window. Most of the photos had terrible reflections through the windows as other travellers in our carriage were not as hardy as us and wanted the windows kept closed! Still glad I do it and saw some stunning scenery.

While the sun held out we made our way to Conwy and did the castle. Again it did not disappoint and the presentation was actually better than Caernarfon with lots of interpretation panels showing artist impressions of how it would have looked 13th century. It started to rain as we exited the castle which led us into a little tea rooms where we partook of a Welsh Tea. This consisted of Bara Brith, Welsh Cake and scone with jam and cream, all delicious. A short walk round Conwy in the pouring rain, so we drove back to the hotel and watched The Chase while drying off.

Mr L had ‘forty winks’ and now that the rain has stopped we are going to walk into town while deciding whether to eat at the Greek or Italian restaurant for dinner. I think I’ve put on the stone I lost before we came away!
