Rusty Red

Weather has gone downhill again today. :( I had a walk at Amwell Nature Reserve and headed for a hide when it started to rain - again. I opened the door and turned on my heel as there wasn't really room for me as a couple and their grandchildren were inside. I went upstairs instead. I don't usually choose the upper storey as the tweety birds aren't visible from there but as usual I decided to think positive. Surely the elevated position would be better for birds in flight?

Nothing doing, other than a few gulls for a while but then I spotted a red kite. It didn't fly very close to the hide but I was able to capture a dorsal view which I haven't achieved before. I love its rusty red plumage. It had an air miss with a cormorant. (Extras)
