Orphans

Yesterday at work we got a call to say a car had knocked down a wild boar at the entrance to our office and that a remaining group of boars were heading towards the main road. The police came and with my colleagues they were able to usher the group of four animals into our car park.

The boar turned out to be pigs which we can only assume were abandoned over Easter in the woods. Sadly the RSPCA were not able to help us much so my colleagues have created a pen and shelter for them in a field next to our car park. We've got them food and there is a steady stream of people popping over to see them - they are very friendly and clearly used to humans. We've made enquires with some local people who we hope may be able to give them a new home. Today we heard someone is pleased to have them but we need to find a way to get them transported and also they first need a health check to ensure they don't have any diseases.

Obviously it's sad someone abandoned these animals and I am surprised there seems so little support other than the goodwill of individuals to keep them safe and try to find them a caring new home. I guess resources are very stretched. My colleagues want to keep them but that is definitely not going to be allowed!
