Gimmeldingen - My Favorite View

My neighbour has never been to Gimmeldingen to see the Almond Blossom. She saw my Friday photos on Facebook and we decided to go again today and I showed her around as much as I could.

It was sunny today and you can see, this plateau is not only my favourite spot. Easter Monday is a holiday here and the almond blossoms are as pink and as pretty as they can be and again many people were there to see them. The almond blossoms look so much pinker in the sun! We stopped so many times just to take deep breaths because they smell so good, too.

In the photo we are looking down at Neustadt-Gimmeldingen. In the distance on the hill next to the steeple the famous Hambacher Schloss.

Today we choose to take the bus back to the train station to Neustadt an der Weinstraße (because my neighbour had been sick for a while and was a little out of breath after all the walking). The bus took us to a few pretty corners of Neustadt that I hadn't seen before, which was a nice unexpected surprise, too.
