The Early Bird
My alarm went off at 5.30am and I have to say that I could very easily have turned over and gone back to sleep! But my mind started ticking and I thought that if I didn't go out, I would regret it later on, so I got up and was at the beach by 6.15am and it was still dark. It was quite an eye opener too as there were people obviously just going home from their night out, homeless people sleeping under shelter and there was even someone out digging for lugworms for bait, but as the saying goes: the early bird catches the worm!
By the time I'd parked up and put my wellies on, it was starting to come light and I headed down to the 'sand' where there were a few other photographers, and waited for the sun to come up. It was quite cloudy so there wasn't a complete sunrise, but with the low tide the reflections on the wet sand were amazing. I struggled with my choice tonight, but like this one with the lone photographer - the colours aren't as strong as some of the others though, so I've added some to my extras.
I was home by 8am, cooked bacon sandwiches for breakfast and then I went to the gym for a swim while Alan went shooting. Unfortunately there was a problem with the water heating at the gym and the pool was really cold, but it made we swim quick!
On the way home I stopped off to see Elif, Seyran and Luca. Elif's mum was still there and gave me the biggest hug ever which was really nice. She goes home on 10th April, so I'll see her before she leaves and I've asked Elif to teach me some Turkish so that I can say something to her.
Luca is a week old now and doing really well. I had him over my shoulder and was amazed at the strength in his neck, he kept lifting his head up! I've added a couple of photos of him to my extras, and next week I'm going to do a baby photo shoot for them :-)
This afternoon, Alan carried on with decorating, I made a roast dinner and we had drinks in the Palace. All in all a good Sunday and we haven't ate any chocolate - yet!
Hope you've had a good day, however you've spent it.
