Reduced agenda
There were great plans for Kinder Scout. Recalling the bog from the many years ago we went up there, plans were rapidly simplified to a crag walk with the weather that was set in for the day. As W&H arrived at the cafe and announced a coffee shop day, who were we to disagree? We managed two but visited three! It was just great to have hours of chatting (in the warm) and a long overdue catchup with some very lovely friends.
Rich (requiring much encouragement), me and Little Dog nipped out on the way home to visit the impressive Derwent Dam, place of the wartime dam busters practice. But frankly, we didn't make it very far. It was at least dry by then but exceptionally cold and draughty. We walked for 20 minutes one way and 18 back with a tailwind!
