Stair Spiral

This long woven spiral hangs down the stairway at "the UK's oldest practising tapestry studio" at the Dovecot Studios in Edinburgh. We popped into the very nice little café for a hot drink to get warm when I noticed the spiral. At present there is a marvellous exhibition of the most unusual fabrics made by Japanese Nuno Textiles and the varieties of materials used to make the cloths are fascinating.
