Mr Carlyle

This morning we were training some new guides in Kelvingrove Art Gallery. Here are some of them getting to know Whistler's painting of Thomas Carlyle also known as Arrangement in Grey and Black No 2, so I thought it was ok to post this blip in grey and black.

Carlyle (4 December 1795 – 5 February 1881).was a Scottish philosopher, satirical writer, essayist, translator, historian, mathematician, and teacher. Considered one of the most important social commentators of his time, he presented many lectures during his lifetime with certain acclaim in the Victorian era.(Mr Google)
