...walked on by as I passed Bakehouse Close this morning. But...it had entered my awareness and was on my mind so I retraced the ten or so steps that I had taken past it and took this wee photo...from the edge of the road, hoping the Lothian bus coming up the Cannongate wasn’t going to hit me!

Every so often the closes and the buildings on the Cannongate enter my awareness...the age and the look of them and I think about how long they have sat on this stretch of the Royal Mile. I ponder on the changes they have witnessed and the sights they have seen and I am grateful that they are here for me to ponder on and appreciate their character.
