Snakes Head Fritillary.

Yesterday a snake (well,a legless lizard) today a snakes head.

These are one of my favourite spring bulbs, best seen en mass but this one has appeared all on its own.

Today started in the rain but improved as it went along and after cutting a couple of badly placed boughs from an apple tree I continued tidying the herbaceous border. After lunch I made my weekly visit to Mrs Long's garden. All the containers are looking better and better, I think she would have enjoyed them.

Once I finished, RF and I walked her dogs then had a quick cuppa before I had to leave, didn't enjoy having to rush off.
