One Last Shot of the Pelican Lady
We are leaving tomorrow morning to head home to Michigan. I took one last trip out to the bay.
Beth, the pelican lady, was at the fish company...looking for hurt shorebirds. She wasn't finding any, but then I saw a problem with a pelican that was perching high over her head. The bird had a big hole in its pouch. She tried to lure it down by throwing some small fish up to it, but he/she wouldn't come down. She hopes to capture it in the next couple of days, and to take the bird in for some stitches.
Look at the perching problem-pouched pelican picture in the Extras. Poor thing. I hope she can catch it.
We had my brother Jim and his wife Joy over for dinner, and then we sent them home with all of our remaining food.
I may be out of touch for a few days. 1,250 miles to go, with an extended stop in Kentucky to see our old Florida neighbor.
