Finished!

Another bright and chilly day, so a good chance to finish the fence.  We've also increased the height of the raised beds, so I started emptying the compost heaps into them. 

It looks great, albeit very stark at the moment, but once the veg beds are all full and the borders are flowering, it will be lovely!  Only the shed to go now . . . !

I got a phone call this morning to say the new hens were out, but luckily the friend who'd been round for coffee was still here, so the pair of us went to catch them.  I realised they had got out simply by standing up in the nest box and pushing the lid off!  They are a good bit taller than previous hens!  Easily remedied by putting a couple of rocks on top of it.  That will sort them!  Good to know that they are relatively tame and easily handled, for future occasions.
