The Murderer

SWMBO and I headed into town this morning to go and see a couple of photographic exhibitions.

The first one was in the National Portrait Gallery "When We Were Young" - pictures of and about children and their place in society. Some of the old ones are absolutely superb and the detail is unbelievable.

After that we went up to the museum to see the Wildlife Photographer Of The Year pictures. They are all presented at  the same size and in the same way (backlight) in a darkened room. There are some wonderful shots from all over the world. SWMBO and I both felt that the best image in the 11-14 year old category  was one of a wolf in the forest in Scandinavia - not the one of fox with its head buried in the snow which won (by the same girl who one the National Geographic competition in the States .... not the same image).
It was a good exhibition and well presented - but didn't have the "WOW" factor of the one in Washington.

I took pictures in both venues of both people and the venue -- there is a baker's dozen starting here.

As for the murderer ............. it is the death mask of a relative of one of SMWBO's brorhers-in-law. He was the last public hanging in Edinburgh.
