More daffodils

The daffodils are all opening up now and I suppose will be at their best in a few fays time. This morning there were two brimstone yellow butterflies in the garden - the first I've seen this year I think. Normally, they'd have appeared sometime in February. Still, seeing butterflies is a sure sign that things are on the way now. 

I'm still trying to figure out the depth of field question. It seems from this photo that the camera might not have been focusing where I'd intended it to. I think I need to understand better how it decides what it's being asked to do. This is the best of several photos of the same thing - in most of the others the point of focus is quite obviously somewhere other than where I'd thought it was.
