Mainz

St Stephans Church in the old town of Mainz with the Marc Chagall stained glass windows.

We visited the printing museum of Johannes Gutenburg, a German who invented the first printing press. I believed it was invented by an English man named William Caxton in about 1470 but this is incorrect. There were some unique and priceless mediaeval books on display.

Late in the evening we visited a wine grower colleague of our friends and had a red wine tasting of his excellent wines.

This is our last night in Germany and in spite of the cold weather including snow and rain, we did everything planned and have had a wonderful time with our friends.
