Dusk over the Pennines
It's been a strange week in the run up to Easter.
I've been trying to attain a healthy life/work/blip balance, but seem to be failing a bit on the blipping front. What I mean by this is that I've been loading my blips at very strange times of the day just so I can at least have a complete diary.
What I haven't been doing is giving myself the pleasure of enjoying everybody else's efforts. This is just as important to me as it gives me inspiration and a good deal of fun.
Loading and leaving is a bit of a cop-out, but unfortunately it is sometimes necessary. Now it's Easter, I'll give myself a bit more blipping time...
So, tonight I had intended to drive home from Manchester to Northampton via Leeds (to pick up No.1 Son and bring him home)
This plan was quickly thwarted by the M60 being closed, and therefore the M62 being unreachable. I had to divert over the Pennines via some of the nicest scenery I have ever driven through. The road took me close to the Holmfirth ("Last of the summer wine") district, which I would have blipped if I could've stopped. At the top of the Pennines, I found a lay-by and shot this sunset. I suppose it was a bit too dark, but it was the only picture I took today.
So it will have to do.
