Spare time ...
Today was a good day.
Having worked all hours God gave me since before Christmas on the proposed merger between my Company and a rival competitor - and having attended two hearings at the Competition Commission headquarters in London, we got word today that the Commission had given provisional approval for it to go ahead.
All that work was not in vain..hooray.
This means that in theory, I should have a little more time to pursue some more leisurely activities (after blipping, the gym,and refurbishing the Manchester house)....such as golf.
I am a bad golfer, in fact I haven't hit a ball for nearly three years. But there is a driving range and a nine-hole course just 5 minutes from the office. Being a nice day, me and a colleague went down there after work to knock a few balls down the range.
By the end of the session, I could just manage to get the wedge make the ball go in a straight line.
Afterwards, I went and took a blip of where I will be spending most of my time if I do get on the golf course.
I'm looking forward to competitions where I can once again win the prize for "nearest to the ladies tees with a driver"
