The Last Postbox in Ireland
As promised. Well it intrigues me. This little post box is to be found on the Goat's Path - a minute road teetering on the edge of cliffs, winding a treacherous path down the north side of the peninsula. It gazes rather forlornly out to sea and there is nothing absolutely nothing for miles around - just that little pony who was further down the track today!! Letters are collected at 1.30pm (not weekends) should you be passing. I didn't meet a soul.
Anyway, an unexpectedly exhausting day. A text summoned me into school earlier than anticipated. Panic - what one earth could I do today - skeletons, pumpkins, wtiches - done! Spooky cooking came to mind as I just happened to have some spooky cake paper thingies (yes I am a sucker for punishment). How to make chocolate rice crispy cakes spooky - add glace cherries for bloody effect. A quick stop of at the local shop on my way in for supplies. The children were wan and hyper after an active morning model - making - all plans drop and we had a blissfully formal time doing hard maths and spellings. Now I'm on half-term - yay!!
Edit: I'm confusing people - it's not actually the only postbox in Ireland, it's the last one before you drop off into the ocean! There are lots more lurking amidst the greenness.
