Diary of an Edinburgher

One of the visitors went for a jog in the Meadows again. Just because it was there.

Isobel came to take Archie out, and they went for a Big Walk up Calton Hill. (See Extra). Then the visitors were due in town to meet up with their nephew, and JR was intending meeting up with them to take them to her favourite shops, though one of the visitors was rather less keen.

Archie and I also took the bus into town, but carefully avoided the shops by going into the Gardens again, this time going up, up up towards the Castle Esplanade. Those daffodils are not ready to come out yet - more sunny days like this are needed.

We did a tourist wander, and on a day like this, it's so nice. Everybody's out enjoying themselves. We had a wander round The Esplanade, then down to the Grassmarket, then back to the Meadows. I did contemplate a bus home, but resisted. Though we did have a rest in cafe, then went out without buying anything.

We watched the Safari video on the big TV last night, and the visitors were quite impressed at how close we got to the animals. And how good the iPhone camera is. I've finally uploaded it to YouTube (six months later). It's rather loooong, so do fast forward to see the elephant crossing his legs (8.40), the extremely close elephant (10.07),, the poisonous snake (17.44), and the fighting giraffes (22.20)...

It was the best holiday ever.
