Diary of an Edinburgher

Two deliveries

What a techy day! The new router arrived, as well as the NOW TV box. This involved quite a lot of setting up and fiddle-faddling, but all working now. In fact, we've watched a couple of episodes of 'Delicious' - a family saga set in Cornwall, with Dawn French as a chef. Makes a nice change from rapes, murders and mumbling 'acting' which requires subtitles.

Our new(ish) phone, which blocked unwanted calls, died suddenly. I rang the free help number, but I was directed to an 'out of warranty' number, which I was cheerfully informed would cost me 65p a minute! Not worth it, but just as well we'd kept - or hadn't got around to getting rid of - the old phone, so we're back to cold calls.

JR and Archie are checking the weather for walkies on the iPad this morning. They did manage an afternoon walk between showers, while I wrestled with the new router. I hope 'buffering' is a thing of the past.

Happy 100th birthday Vera Lynn!
