A gentleman, retired
A day in the life. Someday in March.
Penultimate full day in Goa. Decided on a haircut. (See what you've started CT)
Just a wee trim says I. Fine says he. Buzzzzz, snip snip snip. Baldy falls short as a description, but not as short as my hair. Ach well, 7 days will sort it.
The haircut came with an Indian Head Massage, and that came with arm bending and stretching, finger breaking (nearly), back bashing, neck wrenching, Eyebrow and ear hair trimming which may have been part of the haircut, but happened during the mangling. Oh, and a 5 minute vibration with a fierce machine.
Wonderful, and it only cost 200 Inr, with a 100Inr tip, and I'm not pulling your leg!
Met a delightful elderly gentleman who softly requested some financial assistance, he being down on his luck in this life. By clear signs we discussed how he would spend his newly acquired means of purchasing, and he undertook not to spend it on drink, but instead on food. I did believe him, as there was no smell of alcohol on him.
Relaxed by the pool, where the temperature just climbed and climbed, chasing us to our room about 13:00, roasted & knackered. Pool is hemmed in by trees so very little air movement = boiled in one's own perspiration.
Had a long walk on the shoreline of the beach, carefully avoiding some stuff which looked as though one would not like to stand on it. We were heading for Dominick's where, according to posters around the village, there was to be live sitar music. There wasn't. Tuesdays had been changed to Wednesdays but nobody had bothered to alter the banners. The proprietor thanked me for my advice in this respect, and we moved on.
Dined in a new to us restaurant. It's at a crossroads, and after serving a chicken dish to Sue instead of prawn, that may be all too true. ;-)
Targets for tomorrow:- 1) Beach as much as tolerable. Forecast is “misty” so that may help to extend our stay. 2) Workout how to get our check-in cases down to 15Kg. We have 30Kg on all flights except the Goa to Mumbai. Lots of stuff in pockets methinks.
Extras: Strangers on the shore, putting away the gear, Brahmni Bull & Big horned buffalo (Mrs.)
