Bright

Had to go up the Canongate to talk maths for 90 minutes - introduction to matrix algebra, not terribly gripping stuff. Had a nice bowl of soup and a chat with Andrew in the Fig Tree afterwards. He took up the baton and went back to enthrall them with sequences and series......

The Water of Leith swan pair have resumed their territory, close to the nesting site under the traffic lights. This was the only bright thing visible in the gloom - it rained all day.
