I stopped by the Peedie Sea again looking for the heron.  Got chatting to a chap who takes even more bird photos than me ;) and he had just got some nice shots of the heron - we watched it take off & fly to the other side of the water. We got talking about this bird, as I was drawn to it because it's the only one not in its winter colours (see extra), and he said it's been like this for a while (which I hadn't noticed when I've been here recently).

Bumped into D in the supermarket, & we went for a coffee & a blether.
