Bleeding Hearts

I planted the bleeding heart root last spring and was so disappointed when I saw no results from it last year. I thought it was a lost cause and a write-off.

Imagine my surprise when I saw not only a plant coming forth this year but some blooms! I am tickled pink. It is still a baby plant but I have high hopes for it and it is a nice greeting at the front door.

No sitting outside the next few days as it is cold and there is still enough wind to be extra uncomfortable
