1227. MM215 - Ugly...

My hubby collects militaria as he's a bit of a military history buff and so there are lots of interesting bits and pieces in our house....and a lot of swastikas.....sadly I find the connotation very ugly indeed...not the symbol but what it stood for....this is a German Mother's medal and would have been awarded for a woman who had in excess of 8 children and all are dated 1938....

I couldn't bring myself to leave the swastika in the middle whilst posting this on a public site so I took it out....but the swastika was there right in the centre.....

It's a piece of our history and I can admire it for being that and I know that there are a lot of collectors out there who covet these things....but they all have a sinister motive and therefore I find this....ugly....
