1226. Another birthday gift...

We are having a lazy jammies sort of day today...although hubby is dressed and has been digging our car out so that if we want to use it soon we can...our complex is buried at the moment so he's managed to dig the car out and has spread copious amounts of salt around to try and aid the thawing process...although at just over 1 degree it's going to take a while...

So whilst he was slogging away outside I sat in my kitchen with all of my photography kit strewn around ( he hates me doing this so a perfect opportunity arose as I knew he’d be out of the house for at least an hour!)....

Tried out my other birthday present from hubby...a new diffuser for my flash...it's a sort of pop up one that has a hole to fit over the lens whilst covering the flash head....I'm not really that good at using the flash as yet so I need to do some research but I managed to set my camera to manual and control the light pretty well on most of my shots...the first few were almost white and then a few were also almost black when the flash refused to fire!

I took shots of some of my newest jewellery and this is a bracelet from my youngest son which I love...he bought me a pendant and matching earrings but unfortunately I already had the pendant so I took it back on the way home (with his permission of course!) and exchanged the pendant for this bracelet....he laughed and said he should have known that I probably already had half the shop!

I was really spoiled by my family.....my eldest boy has been snowed in for days so he will post my present and card soon...but he remembered and phoned me on my birthday so I'm very lucky!  I'm cosied up in my new jammies from my eldest step daughter right now and will probably stay in them all day!
