Hadrian's Wall

Will has been doing the Romans in History and is really enthusiastic about it. I had planned to take them to the wall in the summer, but as we were up there just as he was finishing the topic I thought we would strike while the iron was hot. Grandad and Uncle James came too. Although it was cold and pretty soggy and slippy under foot it was a great day out. Will really understood the size and magnitude of the wall. I had forgotten how beautiful the landscape is and was glad we had gone because it was quite busy despite the freezing weather so in the summer it would be packed.
