The Prince of the Poles

At the end of the day, Henry the heron pauses to survey his kingdom. He gently pushes out his chest. He looks for other herons to chase off, and he squawks at the seagulls and pelicans to back off. It is good to be on top of the bird food chain. It is good to be king.

My favorite subjects of the night...were again the pigeons, but there was NO WAY I could post them again. I couldn't see, but I think the couple was picking up pieces of wood, (nesting material?) and sliding down a cushion into a big hole on the bow of an abandoned boat.. It was almost like watching children sledding down a hill of snow. Funny.

See the pigeons and a few other birds on my Flickr page.
