Memorial

Returning from a funeral in Norfolk today, passed this war memorial by the side of a very busy A11. It was erected by the Elveden, Eriswell and Ickingham parishes. and honoured the dead from the three parishes. It was the sheer size which was so amazing. It was weird to see it on the edge of such a noisy busy road with no houses or signs of any inhabitation close by. It is difficult to imagine how they will be able to hold a Remembrance Day service in such a position. There were remains of old wreaths at the base, so services must be enacted there.
