The Goal...of the Fishing Pole

I don't shoot them very often, but I love lines. The lines on a roof, the lines of a fence, and today...the lines of fishing poles.

15 guys from Ohio are on vacation in Florida, and are having a low-key fishing tournament. They have rented the services of 5 different chartered boats for the morning. You do the math. The half-day charters are at least 500 dollars. 5 times 500 equals 2,500 dollars. AND THAT DOESN"T EVEN INCLUDE THE TIP FOR THE CAPTAIN (the boat owner.) A pretty expensive contest.

When all the men congregated on the dock afterwards, there was a lot of posturing going on, and a lot of talk about the rules. It's hard to read people from Ohio (they are VERY different), but they seemed to have a good time. Plus, they'll be eating very well tonight.

2 pictures in the Extras. A wind-blown snowy egret, and a giant egret that enjoyed the scraps from the Ohio fishermen. (I don't even want to know what part of the fish that is!)

Plus...9 bird pictures on my Flickr page.
