Flows of ice were on the river by the Montagu Bridge in Dalkeith Park while deep snow hid the masses of snowdrops and tree branches were lined in white.  It was a beautiful walk with hardly anyone around, probably because there were still no buses and people were taking the advice to travel only if necessary due to the road conditions.
