Knit & natter

1st March = Snow Day

We finally received a bit more of the snow forecast for the south east...thankfully not as much as other areas.  This was taken at 20:49 as My Boy and I set off to walk around the arboretum.  It seems I had not been that way for many months or more, as just round the corner from here we entered the recreation ground and there were all new benches, paths & play equipment that certainly weren't there last time I paid a visit.  So it must be an awfully long time ago...how shocking is that?  Anyway, My Boy was trying out 30 second snow exposures...I think some of them must have been OK.

For once (in snowy conditions), I did not have to go anywhere or meet anyone, so could just stay at home in the warm all day.  I cannot tell you how blissful that was!

However, I did speak to my Mum on the phone and she was safely in the warm of her flat too.  Mind you, at least she could still have company by trotting along to the owners' lounge where they had their weekly "knit & natter" meeting, which usually ran at the same time as the card games.  Having a wicked sense of humour, Mum had aptly renamed this "stitch & bitch" instead, which made me laugh.  Unfortunately, the new name rings pretty true as there seems to be quite an uncomfortable atmosphere at the lodge just now...the lodge manager appears to be causing a great deal of upset by making derogatory comments about some owners to others, giving conflicting versions of stories, encouraging owners to fight (albeit verbally) with one another, encouraging the belittling of one or more owners by herself and other owners, often bursting into tears complaining that SHE is being bullied and generally being quite unprofessional for such a role.  Hmmm...I wonder what will happen?

Thought for the day:
