Let Sleeping Fieldfares Sit!

... ie: make do with a shot through the window and don't disturb them by trying to get it outside!

The snow arrived with vengeance today! The Mate picked me up in the Land Rover to go to the studio. Travelling down to the lake with our student would have been foolhardy today so we made our tuition studio based, which was ok. Lots of snowy landscape to be shot from the car park and macro work is done indoors anyway.

When I got home home, I got told about record numbers of birds in the garden: our usual visitors in ones and twos, 3 redwing, 75 starlings (which we only rarely get) and 43 fieldfares.

About 20 of the fieldfares were enjoying a snooze on the sorbus in the afternoon sun. Tummies filled with the remains of the windfall apples.

The down side of the day was #2 Daughter's doubt about making it down here tomorrow to start our holiday and Sainsbury's saying they wouldn't be delivering the shopping for our self-catering week aboard Solace.
