Droopy Loopy Snow Ribbons
The snow that sits around for awhile does interesting things. Sometimes it droops sadly while I'm pretty sure it would prefer to simply melt. We've had brutal cold temps now for far too long, but man do we ever have Character, with a capital C. By the time March rolls around we will surely have loads more. This picture is my poor attempt to capture how the packed snow, that was perched tall and straight on the beams of my atrium patio, has now begun to droop down off the beams in loopy 'ribbons.' It's quite amazing to see, as it isn't holding onto anything except itself - tightly bonded, glued-together snowflakes that refuse to let go.
Just like us, in the throes of winter in Chicago. It's about survival.
The faux light fixture was the subject of my first blip also a snow shot.
