A Crazy Twenty Four Hours

After such a busy day yesterday we had a glass of wine as a nightcap and were just ready to go off to bed when the phone rang. The call was from the care company looking after Mrs madwill’s mother to say that they had attended an emergency call from her house as she had fallen and they had called an ambulance as they though she had broken her wrist.

Neither of us were in a fit state to undertake a drive up north, even without the wine, so we spent a couple of hours trying to make plans as to how we could manage to cover the quit show and get up to see her. We didn’t sleep well as you can imagine.

This morning we found out that she had been admitted to hospital and had indeed broken her wrist and would be going to surgery on Monday!

So we managed to get to the show to open up and put out the news to all the family. Our daughter volunteered to come and collect Mrs madwill this afternoon and go up with her to visit, leaving me for some of the afternoon at the show and to close up the stand.

Trade was very slow in the afternoon so it wasn’t too much of a hardship - although I was almost asleep by closing time.

I will be opening up in the morning and joined later by Mrs madwill.

I did manage to stop on the way home to photograph some tree silhouetted by a lovely sunset.
