We found a lake!

We went for a longer walk today. On our last visit jere in November we spied this lake but couldn't find a path to it. We thought we'd missed the path to it today but then found a very small and steep track. I'm as nimble as a mountain goat.......a dead one that is!!! So it took us a while to navigate it and at one point we thought it was a dead end when we came to a fence, but there was a little, almost hidden, track. When we started we weren't sure if it would take us to the lake, but it was heading in roughly the right direction so we decided to try. It was worth all the scrambling and slipping when we got to the lake. It's been formed by daming the river and is quite a small lake really. We walked across the dam to the middle (the dam is only about four feet wide and probably only thirty feet across. The last third had water cascading over the top and the other side of the lake was a steep cliff. Below the dam is a dizzying precipice into the deep gorge below. No safety rails or anything but I guess they don't expect many people to make it down to here. I did take pics looking over the precipice but they just didn't show the reality of the distance down to the bottom.
