London Lights

I had a fantastic evening in London on a workshop run by Nigel Levanterman - he is 'big' on Instagram and worth following for the amazing things he does; you'll find him with the tag @Levanterman.

It was only a small group of photographers and we were talked through various aspects of night photography using different shutter speeds for different effects and how to achieve the results with various shutter priorities; all done on tripods with remote releases to prevent camera movement.  I loved it all but the real fun was when Nigel set up the pixelstick - just brilliant;  this is a very clever piece of technology - very expensive though.

As the weather forecast had been for rain all evening (although it was in fact dry) Nigel had selected a spot under a flyover at a busy junction - plenty of traffic and people to create light trails. In the blip there are several people who kept still long enough for the camera to pick up on them and the car lights going through.
Great evening and I am now far more informed on this aspect of photography.  Definitely out of my comfort zone with this skill.
