Stansfield

While in the neighbourhood...

There's a mural to David 'Brixton Boy' Bowie on Tunstall Road just opposite the tube. Plenty of flowers and things still there following the recent two year anniversary of his death. And then, at 40 Stansfield Road (pictured here, black door) just a few minutes walk away is the childhood home that he lived in until the age of six. We made a wee pilgrimage.

After that, it was some sightseeing that took in Buckingham Palace, St James' Park and Downing Street amongst others before I left my family to head east for a bit of Record Shopping at Rough Trade off Brick Lane. And then all meeting up again on the train to head back to Scotland. A remarkably uneventful journey, where I finished off my 'Slaying The Badger' book (about the 1986 Tour De France) that I started on the way down to London two days ago - strange that it took me nearly two months to read a 150-page Flannery O'Connor novel yet I can get through a near-300 page cycling book quite easily in a couple of days. This reading lark..must try harder.
