Burn barrel has seen better days

No idea why the burn barrel is in such bad shape assists rusted away at the bottom. I can only think that if it had a coating that that's been burned off which is why it rusted so badly. My air holes didn't help much either by the looks of it.....

However, I've improvised propping it up with a piece of wood and am now in the process of burning the kitchen from the house we've been working on. Surprisingly it's burning faster than expected.
