Triathlon

Today was the triathlon for the school chlldren.  First they did the swim, in very rough water, caused by the strong wind..  Extra 1.  Then they came out of the water (extra 2), and ran over the bridge, (extra 3)  Then they hopped on their bikes, and headed off on a 3 km bike ride.  (extra 4).  After the bike ride was a 1 km run.  A long way for the children.  However, most of them enjoyed their day out, especially getting a medal, and a little seat!

The worst thing about the day was the very strong wind, and the traffic, which was in gridlock for most of the morning.  Not looking forward to tomorrow as it is the Wanaka Challenge.  It is an Ironman event, with top athletes from all over the world in attendance.  Rain and winds forecast!!  I'll be watching!
