Head .... And Toes

Another vile day weatherwise. :( I got an image of five Shetland ponies that we saw in the horse sanctuary when taking Frankie dog for a walk but it isn't that great.

I made a quick visit to Fishers Green and was pleased to see that the bridge has been repaired so I was able to walk in the rain to the Bittern Hide. Nothing very interesting showing, the wind was blowing the rain in and my shutter finger went numb. I had been hoping for wildlife lovemaking as it's Valentine's Day.

I met this coot before I went in and it walked towards me like Pheasy Boy does, maybe I am a bird whisperer? :) It got so close that I was struggling to capture it with my long lens. I ended up taking images of its head and feet separately. Love those blue-tinged flanged feet. The lobes fold to reduce drag when the foot is moved forward. They fold out when traction is needed with backward movement.
