Allium seedhead
I've been playing in Photoshop elements - I admit that I'm not quite sure how I acheived this, but I rather like the effect.
Have been gardening today - filled the entire brown wheelie bin! Lots of dead annuals and alot of very invasive tuberous spreading something - possibly rosebay willowherb ? Anyone out there good at plants? reddish lower stem, long thin leaves, pink flowers on tall stem, curly seed heads. Tubers grow just under the soil & have lots of fibrous roots growing at intervals. A bugger to get rid of - might need chemical warfare come spring.
Have also dug up some very dreary goldenrod, and ditto a fern.
My favorite flower, a peony, has been very sad in the wet summer - all the buds went mouldy, and then it also fell foul of blackfly. Very sad.
The two cats seem not to understand the concept of 3 meals a day, and are demanding to go back to being fed on demand. However, I must block my ears to the demands, as the vet says that they are both too heavy. They are both 10 this year, so I suppose it's middle aged spread.
We have seen our newly 17yr old daughter for about 10 minutes over the past few days - asleep, out, working ,school, asleep, and now out again. Am feeling rather sad that shes growing up & away, altho' I know she must and I must let her go...
