Being zapped....
Hope this doesn't frighten anyone too much.
I'm the one lying down - as you can see I have a birthmark... Today I went to have it zapped ! Its got quite lumpy over the years (age and hormones I'm afraid), as well as darker in colour. If I was younger, and the colour lighter, I could have it lasered to remove it all together. But what is happening here is using a latest generation laser to evaporate some of the lumps.... this is a test run to see how I react.
I took my camera to the hospital in case I could take some pics of the staff in plastics, and they were delighted - my camera was better than theirs, and when I asked if they'd take some pics of the process, they said yes.
The small red light you can see on my cheek is the guide light, not the actual laser. The plastic tube is a suction tube to remove the smoke - I did smell a bit singed while they were doing the work.
Its very clever, as very controllable, but still amazingly basic - like lots of medical processes.
So just now I'm feeling a bit fragile, with a stingy patch on my cheek. I've been told to stay out of the kitchen (no cooking), put my feet up & take some time out to recover.
Its exciting to think that when it's healed up I will hopefully have smoother skin - it won't be perfect, but should be better.
Hope no-one felt sick at the thought - my partner won't look at pics, too scary !
